What Does Flexco Australia Offer?

Mechanical Belt Fastening Systems

Flexco is known for manufacturing belt fasteners

We’ve spent decades developing a wide range of mechanical belt fastening systems that get your belts up and running fast and provide long-lasting performance for maximising uptime.

In heavy-duty applications like coal, cement, mining, and aggregate, there are two main belt fastener types: Hinged Plate and Solid Plate.

In light-duty applications like agriculture, parcel handling, food, and laundry, fasteners are available in hook and lacing styles, are installed into both ends of the belt, and are joined with a hinge pin. If you’re looking for belt fastener installation experts, just give our team a call, and we’ll have it done for you!

Belt Cleaning Systems

We have engineered innovative belt cleaners to meet your application-specific needs, from food processing to the most extreme mining applications and everywhere in between.

The combination of innovative designs, superior engineering, and industry expertise has developed from spending a lot of time in the field working alongside our customers to understand their belt cleaning needs. In fact, we pioneered many of the advanced features that have since become industry standards.

Belt Positioners, Trackers, and Trainers

Two different types of conveyor tracking systems that work best to prevent belt misalignment:

  • Belt Positioner – A belt positioner is used when a conveyor belt mistracks to one side of the belt. It is placed on the return side of the belt and features fixed rollers that direct the belt into the correct path.
  • Belt Trainer – A belt trainer uses various methods, including tapered ends, sensor rollers, and even pivoting and tilting mechanisms to steer belts that are wandering to both sides back on track.

Bondable and Weld-On Pulley Lagging

When selecting the proper pulley lagging for your application, it is important to consider the environmental conditions around the pulley. That's why we offer two main types of lagging products: bondable and weld-on pulley lagging.

Our Flex-Lag® range has been developed in multiple styles, including Light-Duty, Plain-Pattern, Diamond-Pattern Rubber and Diamond-Pattern Ceramic to meet any application. We also offer a variety of bonding methods, including Cold Bonding, Hot Vulcanised, CN Lined Bonding and Weld-On.

Flexco Australia has been manufacturing quality, engineered ceramic and rubber lagging for over 35 years in Sydney, Australia, as well as exporting to 13 Flexco subsidiaries around the world. We are proud of our Australian-made lagging not only for the jobs it provides to Australians but also because we have the ability to trace every single piece of lagging back to its manufacture date for the best quality assurance possible.

Our conveyor pulley lagging products are among the industry's most innovative, making it easy to find the solution you need to eliminate belt slippage, increase pulley life, improve water shedding, and boost productivity.

Belt Maintenance Tools

We manufacture a family of high-quality belt maintenance tools with built-in safety features to help protect your crew and make each step in the belt conveyor maintenance process easier, faster, and safer.

  • Lifting – A belt lifter safely lifts and holds a tensioned conveyor belt to prepare it for safe repair.
  • Clamping – Engineered belt clamps are specifically designed to properly secure a belt and clamp it for safe belt conveyor maintenance.
  • Cutting – Belt cutters minimise the danger of accidental injury during the belt-cutting process, providing a safer, faster, and more accurate option for cutting a belt than a utility knife.
  • Skiving – Belt skivers remove the top cover of conveyor belts to install recessed splices in a safer manner than using knives by using an enclosed blade.

If you need conveyor belt maintenance solutions, don’t hesitate to reach out to our team, and we’ll find the right solution for your application!

Impact Beds and Skirting Systems

There are several load point solutions available to help you ensure your belt is continually supported and spillage and dust generation are things of the past, including:

  • Slider and Impact Beds – Slider beds and impact beds offer conveyor belt protection and material containment by controlling acceleration, deadening impact energy, reducing damaging vibrations, and extending belt life.
  • Skirting Systems – Skirting systems create an effective seal at the load point, ideally without damaging the top cover of the belt, to discourage spillage and dust release.

Digital Solutions

Flexco Elevate® is a remote monitoring IoT solution for belt cleaners and belt health that utilises real-time data and machine learning insights to detect belt cleaner issues before they affect your operation.

Endless Splicing Systems

Endless belt splicing creates strong, long-lasting splices through heat, pressure, and/or chemical bonding for a truly seamless splice.

We recommend the use of endless splicing tools for a variety of industries, including food processing, industrial baking, logistics, and more. Typical endless splicing tools include:

  • Finger punch – a mechanical finger tool designed to punch fingers into conveyor belts in preparation for installing an endless splice.
  • Ply separator – a tool used to cut between the plies of the conveyor belt during belt splice preparation. This is helpful when preparing finger-over-finger splices and stepped splices and for recessing mechanical fasteners.
  • Splice press – a tool used to join belt ends together through heat and pressure. For best results, choose a splice press that works with your type of belting, whether it is PU, PVC, or monolithic.

Belt Accessories

Transferring products safely and efficiently through the belt conveyor system is often one of the biggest challenges in material transfer. We have a line of segmented transfer plates, hitch guards, and conveyor belt cleats to ensure your load reaches its destination.

  • Engineered transfer plates help prevent product loss at transfer points, providing a smooth transition across the transfer and preventing items from falling under or getting caught in the transfer.
  • Hitch guards protect the hitch, preventing small objects from getting caught and causing major damage and costly periods of downtime.
