Our Story:

Pilbara Photographics began with Peter Carter, a professional photographer passionate about the remarkable landscapes and environment unique to the Pilbara region of Western Australia. This resulted in the production and sales of images through short-term tenancy agreements within several townships of the Pilbara (Newman, Broome and Port Hedland). 

After four years of travelling, Peter recognised the desperate need for professional photography services in the area, and hence, Pilbara Photographics was born in South Hedland Shopping Centre in July 2008. Seven years later, the business continues to be successful and independent. 

What We Do:

Pilbara Photographics is the one-stop shop in Port Hedland for all your photographic needs. We provide landscape and commercial photography, memorabilia, camera equipment and associated sundries to the town and all who visit. 

The gallery has a specialised framing section and offers photo printing services. You can also find camera gear and a wide range of batteries. More recently, a travel centre has been added for your convenience, where you can research and book flights, cruises, and other travel-related services. 

With a brand new state-of-the-art (solar/self-sufficient) building encompassing a shopfront, gallery and coffee shop, all with the same high level of customer service and reputation, this company epitomises what a business in the Pilbara should be.
